With Infinity Wars still in theatre and fans still recovering from the shock waves it delivered, Marvel is wasting no time in getting to business on their next super. The much anticipated Captain Marvel, which has a release date for March 2019, has just announced Annette Bening to join the cast. This will be the four-time Oscar nominees first time in a superhero movie. Her roll has yet to be revealed.
Directed by Anne Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind), Captain Marvel is set before the events of Infinity Wars in the 90’s. In fact, according to Kevin Feige the film is set before the Avengers assembled.
So far the cast is looking star studded with the likes of Lee Pace returning as Ronan, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Ben Mendelssohn, and Djimon Hounsou to name a few.
Currently the Captain Marvel crew are filming in and around the L.A. area. Recent pictures show Brie Larson suited up in an Air Force uniform and posing by a jet, indicating we’ll the audience will get a true to comic origin story.
